About me

I am a biostatistician and evolutionary biologist. I am currently a postdoc in the Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford as a member of Prof David Steinsaltz's Statistics and Biodemography Group.

I am interested in the intersection of statistics and biology, as can be seen by my training with BScs in both Mathematics with Statistics and Biological Sciences from Imperial College London. For my undergraduate thesis during my BSc in Biological Sciences, I studied the recovery of photosynthetic capacity of lichens under dehydration stress, supervised by Dr Jeff Bates in Silwood Park.

Between 2009 and 2010, I did my MSc in Plant Diversity at the University of Reading under the Taxonomy and Evolution stream. My master's thesis, supervised by Dr Jim Ross, was on the impact of essential oils on mycorrhizal symbionts using microscopy and mixed effects modelling.

I did my PhD in Biological Sciences at the University of Reading in the Culham Research Group. My thesis was on the combination of morphometrics and machine learning for identification of apple cultivars, supervised by Dr Alastair Culham and Prof Nick Battey. The first two papers from this work can be found here and here.
